Our school embraced the vibrant spirit of French culture by celebrating French Day with a special assembly. The day commenced with a serene prayer, setting a reflective tone for the festivities.
The celebration began with an inspiring “Thought of the Day,” to appreciate the beauty of cultural diversity and the importance of learning new languages. This was followed by an engaging introduction, providing students with insights into France’s national celebrations and historical significance.
The event was further enriched by a series of fascinating facts about France, which helped deepen the student’s understanding of the country’s rich heritage. To complement this, students recited poems that highlighted French culture and its literary contributions, adding a touch of artistic flair to the day.
The celebration also featured a culinary showcase with authentic French cuisines to experience a taste of French traditions and language.
To add a theatrical element, students performed a skit based on the classic tale “Little Red Riding Hood.” Presented in both French and English, the skit showcased the students’ language skills and perfect accent, bringing the story to life in a unique cultural context. I am proud to take on the role of the hunter, rescuing Little Red Riding Hood from the menacing wolf.
The day concluded with a reflective closing ceremony. French Day not only enhanced students’ understanding of French culture but also strengthened the sense of community within the school.
