- Sep 27 th, 2024
The vibrant and joyous celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi at Concorde Manhattans marked its 14th year, with residents from all walks of life coming together for a festival filled with devotion, fun, and camaraderie. In true spirit of unity, the three-day festivities brought people from different faiths and backgrounds together, fostering a sense of community that has become a hallmark of this residential enclave.
The festivities began with the traditional Sthapna on the first day, where the eco-friendly, paper-based Ganesha idol was ceremoniously installed. The choice of an environmentally friendly idol reflects the community’s deep respect for both tradition and sustainability, a practice they’ve proudly upheld in recent years. Following this, the children of the society were treated to a delightful puppet show, tattoo artist, which filled the air with laughter and joy. The day ended with a ‘mahabhandara’, a grand communal dinner that saw residents come together as one big family, sharing stories, smiles, and a delicious feast.
The second day was dedicated to celebrating the pillars of the community—both young and old. The senior citizens were treated to a series of fun-filled events designed to engage and entertain them, highlighting the respect and love the community holds for its elders. This was followed by a special lunch for the often-unsung heroes of the neighborhood—the support staff. It was a heartwarming gesture, emphasizing the gratitude of the residents toward those who contribute to the smooth running of their lives. The day closed with the spiritual recitation of Sunderkand Path and Ganesha aarti, where the sacred chants resonated through the community, invoking blessings for all.
The third and final day witnessed a touching display of devotion as the women of Concorde Manhattans gathered for an evening of melodious bhajans, their voices rising in prayer and celebration. The culmination of the festivities came with the Visarjan, where the residents came together for the emotional farewell to Ganpati Bappa. With dhol beats filling the air, people danced joyfully, bidding adieu to their beloved deity with the promise of welcoming Him again next year.
The celebration was not just about tradition but also about unity, love, and respect. For 14 years, the residents of Concorde Manhattans have embodied the essence of Ganesh Chaturthi, celebrating it as one community, transcending religious and cultural boundaries. This year was no different, as once again, they came together to honor Lord Ganesha, ensuring that the bonds of friendship, respect, and love remain as strong as ever.
With every year, this celebration serves as a reminder of the strength in unity and the beauty of togetherness—a tradition that Concorde Manhattans hold close to its heart.
