Navratri Golu is a cherished tradition for the Hindu Brahmin community, where a display of dolls is set up for nine days. This practice, which has been a part of the community’s culture since my childhood, is particularly special as it celebrates girls and women.I have been personally keeping ‘golu’ for the past 40 years since my marriage. The Golu is an opportunity for women to come together, socialize, and exchange gifts. The dolls on display depict various cultural and religious themes, serving as a means to educate children about their heritage and values. Keeping the Golu is a way for the community to preserve and pass on their traditions to future generations, making it an essential part of our cultural identity.
