Hello! I’m Shiva, a high school student who’s really passionate about chess. My adventure with the game kicked off when I was just ten years old during the lockdown, thanks to my mom who introduced me to it. What began as a fun pastime quickly turned into a serious love affair with chess. As my interest grew, I decided to join the chess cocurricular at my school. Eventually, my mom took it a step further and founded Chess Kingdom Academy to help young players like me thrive.
Being part of the academy has been an incredible journey—not just as a student, but also as someone who’s been involved in its growth. One of the standout moments in my chess journey was training with a FIDE-certified coach at the academy. It really took my game to the next level. I also started creating chess puzzles for younger students, which not only helped them but also sharpened my own tactical skills.
Of course, the road hasn’t always been smooth. I faced my fair share of early losses, but each defeat taught me valuable lessons. With time, I built up my confidence, began competing in local tournaments, and learned how to juggle chess with my schoolwork. Chess has been a fantastic teacher, helping me cultivate patience, focus, and strategic thinking. I’m still learning, training, mentoring others, and sharing my puzzles—hoping to spark that same love for the game in others!
