A Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Program was successfully conducted under Project UDAAN by Shri Krishna Mahila and Bala Vikas Seva Charitable Trust, Bengaluru, at the Government School located inside Central Jail, Parappanagrahara.
As part of the initiative, a biodegradable sanitary pads vending machine was installed on the school premises to promote sustainable menstrual hygiene practices. The vending machine was generously donated by Shakti Sir and Tamilsarai Madam of Nature Care Sanitary Napkins.
The event witnessed the presence of the school principal, along with senior teachers Mr. Nagaraju and Mr. Venkatesh, who extended their full support to the initiative. Mrs. Manisha J, President of Shri Krishna Mahila and Bala Vikas Seva Charitable Trust, was present along with NGO team members Ms. Komal Agarwal and Mrs. Kumuda.
The Chief Guest, Asha Ma’am from CD Anekal, addressed the students with an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of menstrual health, hygiene, and self-confidence. She also inaugurated the biodegradable sanitary pads vending machine, marking a significant step toward accessible menstrual care for students.
Goodies were distributed to the children, sponsored by Mr. Yogesh Goyal from Rotary Bommasandra and Mrs. Tahira from Passion Clothing Store, Doddathoguru. Additionally, Sai Madam contributed by donating sports materials to encourage physical activity and overall development among students.
An interactive awareness session was conducted for younger students, focusing on age-appropriate education, hygiene practices, and breaking myths surrounding menstruation. The session aimed to empower children with knowledge and promote dignity, health, and confidence.
The program was a meaningful step toward creating a supportive and informed environment for young students, reinforcing the commitment of Project UDAAN toward menstrual health awareness and sustainability.
