Coordinated Infrastructure Push Planned for Bengaluru South
Bengaluru South is set for a major infrastructure push with all departments working in coordination — breaking the traditional silo-based approach to urban development.
Key Developments
- MARCS portal mandate: Road-cutting approvals must now be routed strictly through the MARCS portal.
- Iblur Junction: Underpass and flyover proposals under review; joint survey underway due to GAIL’s 8-inch gas pipeline.
- Wipro Junction (Sarjapur Rd): Planned U-turn and relocation of the existing bus bay.
- Kaikondrahalli Junction: Possible compound wall removal near Elements Apartment and construction of a new bus bay.
- BWSSB works: Directed to fast-track pipeline work near Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, and ensure rapid road restoration.
- Traffic Police proposals: Waterlogging solutions near Manipal County, Iblur & Agara Lake; raised medians from Agara–Anepalya; improved road markings on Kasavanahalli Road.
- Immediate desilting: Ordered at Silk Board, Iblur–Manipal Hospital Junction, and stormwater drains on Bannerghatta Road.
Execution Strategy
All concerned authorities have been instructed to treat these projects as top priority, form local task forces, and use WhatsApp-based coordination groups to accelerate decision-making and on-ground execution.
