Authentic Style Chakka Ada
Serves 5–6 persons
Ingredients
- Rice Flour — 1½ Cup
- Fresh Coconut — 1 Cup
- Ghee — 1½ tsp
- Jackfruit — 1½ Cup
- Jaggery — 1 Cup
- Water — ¼ Cup
- Cardamom — ½ tsp
- Salt — pinch
- Banana Leaves / Idli Plates
Preparation
- Dry roast rice flour 3–4 min till aromatic.
- Mix coconut + ghee into flour.
- Add jackfruit puree or chopped fruit.
- Melt jaggery with water, strain, cool.
- Combine syrup to form thick batter.
- Add cardamom + salt.
- Place batter in greased leaves or moulds.
- Steam 20–25 min till set.
Chef’s Tip:
Use fully ripened jackfruit for richer aroma. Banana leaves enhance authenticity.
