Bengaluru City Police conducted a Public Grievance Meeting under the Electronic City Division on May 23, bringing together senior police officials, civic authorities, and residents to address growing concerns related to safety, drugs, traffic, and public welfare in the region.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner of Police stressed the importance of public cooperation in maintaining law and order. He urged landlords and property owners to carefully verify tenants before renting out residential or commercial properties. Special attention was requested in cases involving foreign nationals, with instructions to share tenant details and documents with the local police station.
One of the major concerns highlighted was the rise in drug-related activities in Hebbagodi, Electronic City, and Bandepalya police limits. Officials revealed that significant drug seizures had taken place this year and warned that young people are increasingly being targeted.
Residents also raised complaints about harassment caused near wine shops on Bettadasanapura Road and increasing incidents of eve-teasing in areas such as Subhash Nagar, Neotown, and Hebbagodi. Citizens requested increased police patrolling and installation of CCTV cameras in dark and vulnerable areas to improve women’s safety.
The DCP appealed to the public to report information related to drugs and hafta vasuli, assuring that informants’ identities would remain confidential. The event also witnessed the return of several recovered mobile phones to victims, reflecting ongoing police efforts to strengthen public trust and safety.
