For many in Electronic City, Saturday evenings usually mean dinner plans, movies or catching up with friends. But on June 27, nearly 200 residents of Electronic City spent their Saturday evening immersed in devotional music at Bhajan Clubbing, organised by ISKCON Electronic City Phase 1 Centre. Held from 5 pm to 8 pm, the three-hour programme featured a talented team of musicians from Varanasi and New Delhi. Blending traditional kirtan with contemporary sounds, the ensemble performed using electric guitar, harmonium, flute and mridangam, incorporating elements of jazz and rock while remaining rooted in bhakti. The lead vocalist, Narottam Das Prabhu, an IIT (BHU) graduate, kept the audience engaged as families, students and working professionals sang, clapped and danced together. The evening concluded with a community prasadam dinner, offering participants an opportunity to interact and strengthen neighbourhood bonds. Bhajan Clubbing aims to revive the tradition of sankirtan, collective singing and chanting, promoting devotion, community spirit and meaningful social connections in today's fast-paced world.
The sessions are open to all and aim to promote spiritual learning, meditation, and community participation. Every Sunday from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Ashtanga Yoga Centre, located at 1st Cross Road, Tech City Layout, Celebrity Paradise Layout, Doddathoguru, Electronic City Phase I.
