Those few seconds can lead to accidents, especially for two-wheeler riders, senior citizens, and drivers on poorly lit roads.

The issue is not LED technology itself, but the misuse of high beams, improperly aligned headlights, and unauthorized aftermarket lighting that exceeds safe brightness levels. I request the traffic authorities and transport departments to consider stronger enforcement of headlight alignment standards, regulate non-compliant lighting modifications, and create awareness about responsible use of high beams. Vehicle manufacturers can also play a role by promoting adaptive lighting technologies and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Road safety is a shared responsibility. A simple adjustment to a vehicle's headlights can make a significant difference in protecting the lives of fellow commuters. It is time to address this growing issue before it leads to more preventable accidents.
