Cauvery Water Supply to Be Hit on Aug 28

BWSSB will repair a scour valve leak in the 2,700-mm Cauvery pipeline near NICE Junction on August 28, from 6 AM to 2 PM.
Water supply will be disrupted in Cauvery Stage IV, Phase II areas during the 8-hour maintenance.

Karnataka FDA Suspends Food Licences Over Datura Sales
Karnataka FDA has ordered suspension of the food licences of Amazon, BigBasket and Swiggy Instamart after Datura fruits and seeds were found listed as food products online. The department has directed immediate removal of such listings and warned the public against consuming toxic Datura fruits or seeds.

₹1,247 Crore Residential Project Planned in South-East Bengaluru

Puravankara has signed a JDA for a 7.83-acre land parcel near the Electronic City employment corridor, with 0.89 million sq ft saleable area and a potential GDV of ₹1,247 crore.
The project will benefit from connectivity to Hosa Road, Hosur Road and Namma Metro’s Yellow Line.

Karnataka Draft Voter Roll: Check Your Name
Karnataka’s draft electoral roll, published on August 24, lists 4.46 crore electors, down from 5.54 crore earlier, with 1.08 crore entries placed under ASDDO categories.
Citizens can file claims or objections from August 24 to September 23, with the final electoral roll scheduled for October 27, 2026.

Bengaluru Parking Fee: Reconsideration Sought
Karnataka Minister Ramalinga Reddy has urged the government to reconsider the proposed ₹15,000–₹25,000 annual roadside parking fee in Bengaluru.
He suggested exemptions or relief for families without adequate private parking and called for consultations with MLAs, resident associations and officials.

Karnataka Records 4,212 Influenza Cases
Karnataka has recorded 4,212 laboratory-confirmed influenza-positive cases across 32 districts up to August 22, 2026, with seasonal flu cases currently rising.
Health authorities have strengthened surveillance and preparedness, while residents are advised to follow basic precautions and seek medical care when symptomatic.

From September 11, two-wheelers and passenger autos will be banned 24×7 on the Electronic City Elevated Corridor. Goods vehicles will also face daytime restrictions, prompting alternative-route planning.

31 Foreign Nationals Deported
Thirty-one Bangladeshi nationals identified in Bengaluru’s Electronic City division were deported following verification and official orders. Police said 105 illegal foreign nationals have been detained under Operation Mukta in Electronic City and Whitefield
