- Culture and heritage not only define us but also have a massive impact on our values and thoughts. Hence it is necessary to learn and understand our heritage to respect it. Kannada Rajyotsava — also called Karnataka Formation Day or Karnataka Day is extremely crucial in propagating this fact and has become an exceedingly important day by teaching us about the rich and varied traditions of Karnataka.
- This year was no different in this aspect as we navigated through melodious music and intricate dances, learning about long-forgotten folklore and discovering new cultures. This exposure encouraged everyone from primary to high school, to further learn about the unique and diverse cultures of Karnataka.The other segment of Kannada Rajyotsava is the language itself. Humans are extremely social beings. To be able to communicate our thoughts and feelings, we require languages.
- Language is the primary tool that connects us and has made the transmission of culture and heritage possible. Contrary to popular belief, what makes a language great is often not its simplicity or fame but it is the mark that it leaves on your identity that truly matters. Hence, it is important to learn the language of where you live as it not only helps you in everyday conversations, it also creates a sense of belonging and remains with you for the rest of your days.
- The invigorating stories, arduous struggles and inspiring biographies are a treat to behold and teach you several life lessons that are insightful. Kannada Rajyotsava teaches you the importance of culture and language and why it is necessary to protect the future generation.
