Every year, BVM Global @Bengaluru celebrates its project day along with an art exhibition called Meraki – creativity from within! This event is used to display some of the best artwork created by the children on their own. It gives a stage to these astute little minds to showcase their creativity and their emotions on a blank canvas.
In BVM Global, the focus is not only on children attaining academic brilliance or playing robust sports but also on a very important aspect of children’s lives that is the ability to express themselves through various mediums and touch the heart of others.
Meraki is not just to act as a platform for young artists but also to raise money for a good cause. The parents visiting can look around the exhibition and select their favourite painting to buy for themselves.
The money raised from all of this is collected and donated to identified charity institutions. This is truly a brilliant way to raise huge amounts and I think it’s safe to say that Meraki is a splendid idea for a successful collaboration between school management and parents. The idea, support and space for the art display is provided by the school but the work of planning, executing and donating the collection is done by the members of the Parent Teacher Association.
