The Air Quality Index (AQI) is a standardised system used to communicate the quality of the air in a specific area to the general public. It provides information about how clean or polluted the air is and what potential health effects might be associated with different levels of air pollution. The AQI is typically reported on a scale from 0 to 500, with higher values indicating worse air quality.
The AQI is calculated based on the concentrations of several key air pollutants

Particulate Matter (PM2.5 and PM10): These are tiny particles suspended in the air, which can be harmful to human health when inhaled.
Ground-Level Ozone (O3): Ozone is a major component of smog and can be harmful to respiratory health when present in high levels at ground level.
Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2): A byproduct of combustion processes, high levels of NO2 can irritate the respiratory system.
Sulfur Dioxide (SO2): Emitted from burning fossil fuels, SO2 can contribute to respiratory issues and acid rain.
Carbon Monoxide (CO): A colourless, odourless gas produced by incomplete combustion, high levels can be harmful, particularly to individuals with existing health conditions.

Electronic City reports last two weeks ( till 16 August ) are and with the average of 84.5 which is Moderate with Air quality is acceptable; however, there may be a slight concern for some individuals who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.
