Donation of blood is important for saving lives and essential for community health by keeping the blood supply stable. Blood transfusions are life-saving procedures that help patients live longer and need to be done with care and attention to quality.
We, the ninth-grade students of BVM Global School were given a lifetime opportunity to render a noble service to the community through a campaign. We were divided into three groups and sent to Electronic City, Meenakshi Mall, and Arekere to create and spread awareness about blood donation camp to be conducted in the school premises. We designed meaningful charts and informative pamphlets to spread awareness among the public through stimulating slogans.
Videos using AI technology were created and published in social media to extend the message beyond the physical borders. During the campaign, the police personnel pitched in their support and helped us to get across the message. It was heartening to note the increase in the number of volunteers as a positive effect of our campaign.
I learnt that donating blood is not just about saving lives but the necessity to select the right donors to preserve the quality of blood. The Red Cross Society who had partnered with us for close to 6 years commended our painstaking efforts to continue the good deed. It left me with a resolution to reach more people next time and derive satisfaction in helping fellow human beings to thrive in this world.
