1. What inspired you to pursue a career in education, particularly  in early childhood education? 

Throughout my career I’d been a teacher teaching and facilitating  education for children aged 6 years and above. While educating  them I’ve realized that though for some children expression and  development are quite natural and spontaneous, for others it’s  challenging. Hence they lose their natural curiosity often. While  furthering the research, i came to know that the former’s early  childhood background has sprung from good supportive  developmental preschool. This made me inspired by a passion for  working with young children, helping shape their development and  laying the foundation for their future success. Kaylan is motivated by  a desire to make a positive impact on society by fostering early  learning and growth. 

2. Can you share the philosophy or mission that drives Kaylan  Preschool? 

Promoting holistic development in young children has always been a  prime philosophy behind Kaylan’s all endeavors. With this, fostering  a nurturing and supportive environment, embracing diversity and  inclusion, partnering with families to support each child’s unique  growth and learning journey have been the driving force behind  Kaylan’s philosophy. These are and will be possible only when we  can prioritize play-based learning in its real meaning, social emotional development, and hands-on experiences to encourage  curiosity and creativity in young learners. 

3. What sets Kaylan Preschool apart from other preschools in the  area? 

Our most distinguished features include our unique curriculum,  teaching approaches, facilities, staff qualifications, community  involvement, and extracurricular activities. We have one of its own  kind of a low student-to-teacher ratio, real-time focus on outdoor 

education to maximize the inputs that helps children’s overall  development naturally.  

4. How do you ensure a nurturing and supportive environment for  both students and staff? 

Ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment for both students  and staff often involves several key practices: some practices that  Kaylan Preschool has incorporated are: 

1. **Clear Communication:** Open communication channels  allowed for sharing concerns, ideas, and feedback. This fosters  a sense of belonging and trust among everyone in our  community.

appreciation for diversity from an early age.

2. **Staff Training:** We are providing training on topics such as  cultural competence, implicit bias, and inclusive teaching  practices that help staff create welcoming and supportive  environments for all students. 
3. **Celebrating Diversity:** We are hosting events, celebrations,  and cultural awareness days that allow students and staff to  learn about and celebrate different cultures, traditions, and  identities. We are open to do more.

2. **Interactive Whiteboards:** Utilizing interactive whiteboards  or smart boards to engage students in interactive lessons, story  time, or virtual field trips. 
3. **Digital Storytelling:** Encouraging students to create digital  stories or multimedia presentations using tools like storytelling  apps, digital cameras, or recording devices.
4. **Virtual Learning Platforms:** Providing access to virtual  learning platforms or educational websites that offer  supplemental resources, videos, and activities to support  classroom learning. 
5. **STEAM Activities:** Incorporating technology into STEAM  (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics)  activities, such as coding robots, using programmable toys, or  exploring digital art tools. 
6. **Parent Communication:** Utilizing digital communication  platforms or apps to keep parents informed about their child’s  progress, upcoming events, and school news.

We believe initiatives should be a regular part when it comes to  preschool education. Education involves not only academic  performance and excellence but a lot more about young minds, their  socio emotional well being, language development, sensorial skills, 

motor development, creative outlook of small things and life at large so on and so forth. So the scope is endless. However, we have successful initiatives at our preschools which often involve  innovative teaching approaches, community involvement, curriculum  enhancements, or the introduction of new resources and materials  to support student learning and development. 

8. What challenges have you faced as the principal of Kaylan  Preschool, and how have you overcome them? 

There are some common challenges that almost every principal face at their initial days that include managing staff dynamics, addressing  student behavior issues, navigating budget constraints, and adapting  

to changing educational standards or regulations. We have been  trying to overcome these challenges through effective  communication, collaboration with staff and families, implementing  supportive policies and procedures, seeking professional  development opportunities, and staying proactive in problem-solving  and decision-making.

Kaylan Preschool have been striving towards engaging with parents  and the broader community in several ways: 

1. **Open Communication Channels:** Providing regular updates  and communication through newsletters, emails, or parent-

In my opinion, some of the most important qualities that a preschool  should instil in its students include: 

1. **Curiosity and Creativity:** Encouraging children to explore,  ask questions, and think creatively fosters a love for learning  and problem-solving skills that will benefit them throughout  their lives. 
2. **Social Skills:** Teaching children how to communicate  effectively, cooperate with others, and manage their emotions  lays the foundation for healthy relationships and positive  interactions with peers and adults. 
3. **Independence and Resilience:** Empowering children to  take on tasks independently, make decisions, and persevere through challenges builds confidence and resilience, preparing  them for future academic and life experiences. 

4. **Empathy and Respect:** Promoting empathy, kindness, and  respect for others helps children develop empathy and  understanding for diverse perspectives, fostering a sense of  belonging and inclusivity in their communities. 
5. **Critical Thinking:** Providing opportunities for children to  observe, question, and analyze information helps develop  critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of the world  around them.
