Chandapura witnessed a large-scale protest as residents of Ramasagara and nearby villages gathered outside the Municipality office, demanding the relocation of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Survey No. 111. Protestors, including farmers and local activists, voiced concerns over environmental pollution, health risks, and the plant’s proximity to schools, colleges, and residential areas. They also highlighted that farmers had applied for land in the same area for cultivation.
Community leaders warned that if authorities do not take immediate action, they will escalate the protest to the District Collector’s office. In response, Municipality Chief Officer Srinivas assured discussions with higher authorities.
Residents await further action on their demands.
