Bengaluru is rightly called NAMMA BENGALURU, i.e., the city that belongs to us. Yes.. Bangaloreans have a great affinity to their homeland which is clearly exhibited in every action of theirs. They love their soil, worship it and adore it. They love their language, the melodious Kannada, very much. Infact many of the kannada words resemble Tamil. For eg.. Milk is called Haalu in kannada, while it is called paal in Tamil. To express our refusal, we say Beda in Kannada, while we use the word Vendaam in Tamil. Adukkaley is a kannada word for kitchen while it is called adukkalai in Tamil. These are only a few examples but the list is endless. People of Karnataka have a very friendly attitude. I am a Tamilian, born and brought up in Chennai but I have chosen Bengaluru as my place of residence. I feel very happy to have made this wonderful choice as I am quite astonished at the affectionate behaviour of the people of this land. This soil is like a magnet which transforms people for good. Not only Bangaloreans but also Nepalis, Odiyas, Maharashtrians, Bengalis who live here love this place which earns them their livelihood and spreads their love everywhere. They consider it their dear Maa. They offer a helping hand to others instantly. That is the power of this place.
Another important aspect of Bangaloreans is the fondness and devotion with which they celebrate all the festivals, be it Shivrathri, Diwali, Durga Pooja and Vara Mahalakshmi festival, to mention a few. Their sincerity makes us look at them with awe.
The Temples of this soil are so divine. First of all the prohits do the Poojas with full concentration and bakthi and do not attach any importance to our offerings. Offerings or no offerings, their friendly attitude remains the same. Offering food to the fellow humans rightly called as Annadhanam, is rampant here. Prasadams are distributed almost everyday in all the temples. None can match Bengaluru and infact the whole of Karnataka in this aspect. The salubrious climate of Bengaluru soothes our mind and provokes us to write poems.. People of Bengaluru by virtue of it being a cosmopolitan city, are multilingual and we are induced to learn many languages.
The respect given to sr.citizens is unbelievable and I am proud to be a sr.citizen living in Bengaluru.
Roadside shops selling ornamental jewellery and textiles for a nominal rate is a very common sight in Bengaluru.
Last but not the least,
Automen are very friendly and informative .
What else a person wants except loving to live in this loveable land.. soothing climate, sweet hearted brethren and a fertile soil which turns everything into gold…!
It is definitely NAMMA BENGALURU ONLY.
