1. Surface Preparation
- Groove Cutting: Perform groove cutting using an electrically operated concrete cutting machine. Cut a 50 mm wide and 75 mm deep groove on either side of existing cracks (horizontal and vertical) to form a “V” shape, facilitating effective filling with polyester resin or epoxy putty.
- Scarifying Surface: Scarify the top bituminous layer up to a required depth. Stack reusable materials separately and prepare the bottom and sides of pits/trenches for further construction activities.
2. Excavation and Subgrade Preparation
- Earthwork Excavation: Carry out manual excavation for drains, foundations, and other structural elements. Dispose of surplus soil responsibly or stack selected excavated material for reuse.
- Removal of Subgrade: Remove existing granular surfaces and subgrades to a depth of 250 mm, as per site conditions. Dress the bottom and sides and ensure proper disposal of removed material.
3. Concrete Works
- Plain Cement Concrete (PCC): Provide and lay PCC in a 1:4:8 mix beneath paving/flooring areas. Ensure adequate compaction and curing for strength and durability.
- Concrete Pavers: Supply and lay heavy-duty precast interlocking concrete pavers (100x100x100 mm) over a 50 mm thick sand bed. Compact the surface using a plate vibrator for uniformity and durability.
- Concrete Cobbles: Supply and lay heavy-duty precast concrete cobbles (100x100x100 mm) over a 50 mm thick sand bed around the roundabout.
4. Reinforcement and Formwork
- Reinforcement for White Topping: Provide TMT steel reinforcement for RCC works, including cutting, bending, placing, and tying in position as per site needs.
- Shuttering Works: Provide shuttering wherever required to hold the concrete while laying.
5. Medians and Bollards
- Precast Medians: Supply, transport, and install precast road medians as per approved designs and specifications.
MS Bollards: Install mild steel (MS) bollards with inbuilt LED illumination. Ensure installation follows specified colour codes for safety and visibility.
6. Recharge Pits
- Recharge Pits: Construct rainwater recharge pits using RCC precast rings and jelly filling. Include a cover slab and connect to the stormwater network.
7. Safety and Accessibility
- Tactile Flooring: Lay cement-based tactile tiles for the visually impaired along footpaths and high-traffic pedestrian zones.
8. Pavement and Road Markings
Thermoplastic Paint: Apply 2.5 mm thick thermoplastic paint with reflective glass beads for road markings, ensuring high visibility and uniformity.
Zero Tolerance Zone Markings: Apply special thermoplastic paint for designated zero tolerance zones, complying with road safety standards.
Road Studs and Markers: Install flexible median markers, cat-eye road studs, and solar-powered raised pavement markers for enhanced night-time visibility.
