As electricity tariffs increase annually, a solar connection for the apartment is a one-time investment and cost-efficient energy source. To keep the maintenance of our society economical, we installed a solar system on the rooftop in our society in 2022. The initiative began in June 2023, with a total cost of Rs 2.40 Cr. The solar system is projected to produce 511,500 units of electricity in its first year, covering 60% of the current electricity needs sourced from BESCOM. The system is designed to generate power for 25 years, backed by 25-year warranties for both inverters and modules, which account for 70% of the project investment cost. The purchase order was awarded to Solar Square Energy, which efficiently managed the approval process from BESCOM.
Solar is the best investment for our society, allowing us to save on our monthly electricity bills on average of Rs 3.5 to Rs 4.00 lacs a month. The details of our solar system are given hereunder:
All our MC of SBGBAOA had supported and taken great endeavors to implement the solar system in the apartment.
Karnataka Government Solar Policy 2014-21 Net / Gross Metering Rooftop Solar Scheme is intended to be implemented in BESCOM Jurisdiction. Accordingly, we followed and implemented it after getting full cooperation from BESCOM.
The contact numbers of the persons who were fully involved and had taken keen interest in the implementation of the solar system are as under:
