A group of concerned citizens gathered on Friday at 4 PM to launch the “SWACHHA SWASTHYA ECITY” initiative — a community-driven effort to tackle waste management in Electronics City. A total of 12 members participated in a productive planning session focused on cleaning and maintaining black spots (blind dumping areas) in the locality.
The team proposed selecting a pilot site from among several suggested by residents, followed by engaging local authorities for support, including the provision of dustbins marked for dry and wet waste. Awareness through posters, selfie points, and local “Vigilant Officers” will be key components of the campaign.
Future plans include placing bins every 200 meters, setting up composting and recycling centres, and involving schoolchildren in regular clean-up drives. The initiative marks a strong step toward community-driven cleanliness and environmental responsibility in E-city.
