A major development is underway for commuters using the Electronics City Elevated Expressway and Hosur Road. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited fresh bids for toll collection at the Electronics City and Attibele toll plazas. The estimated annual toll collection from both plazas is ₹265.9 crore. Of this, the Electronics City toll plaza is estimated to generate ₹137.27 crore annually, while the Attibele toll plaza is projected to collect ₹128.63 crore. The e-quotation deadline is September 7, with bids scheduled to be opened on September 8. The new toll agency is expected to manage collections for three months or until a replacement arrangement is made. The development comes as the existing concession arrangement for the 9.9-km Electronics City Elevated Road approaches its end. For thousands of daily commuters, the key question is whether the new arrangement will ensure smoother toll operations and reduce delays at these busy plazas.
