Bengaluru, Electronic City: What started as a simple idea to make running more social is growing into a community movement in Electronic City. Chal Yaaar Run Club is creating spaces where people can step outside their usual routines, meet new people and experience fitness as a shared activity rather than an individual pursuit. The recently organised Family Run Fest on Sunday 20th September, brought families and residents of Electronic City together for a morning of running, fitness and entertainment. The event was designed around a simple idea - bringing the community together, one run at a time. With families participating together, the event encouraged people of different age groups to interact, stay active and build new connections. For Chal Yaaar, however, running is only the starting point. The community is now gearing up for its upcoming event, Temple Run, scheduled for 3 October 2026, which aims to turn Electronic City’s Saturday evening into a celebration of fitness, friendship and fun. Unlike a conventional running event, Temple Run will combine a community run with a range of interactive activities including running around the lake, skim boarding, water-balloon battles, spike-ball, music and a DJ-led experience. The idea is to create an environment where participants can come with friends, meet strangers, get out of their comfort zones and simply enjoy being part of a community.
