Green Earth Champions of ECity organized a community plantation drive on 2nd August 2026, uniting residents, volunteers and environmental enthusiasts to promote a greener, more sustainable Electronic City. The initiative introduced the “One Family–One Sapling” model, encouraging families especially those with children to adopt and nurture a tree, fostering environmental responsibility in the next generation. Ten families adopted saplings and pledged to care for them until they become self-sustaining trees. After extensive site surveys, expert consultations and necessary approvals, Jacaranda (Jacaranda mimosifolia) was selected for its suitability to Bengaluru's climate, beautiful seasonal blooms, shade, air-purifying qualities and support for urban biodiversity.

Each family actively participated in planting, installing support stakes and protective guards, watering the sapling and placing a personalized identification nameplate. Every adopter also received a plantation tool kit and attended an orientation on tree care and maintenance. A key highlight was the launch of a mobile app that enables adopters to track sapling growth, upload photographs, record maintenance activities and receive guidance from environmental experts. The organizers described this event as the beginning of a larger movement to promote sustainability, community participation and environmental stewardship across Electronic City one family and one tree at a time.
