The BDA to Auction 75 Residential Sites Across Key Bengaluru Layouts;
Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) will auction 75 residential sites across key Bengaluru layouts, including Banashankari, SMV Layout, Arkavathi, Anjanapura, and Nagarabhavi.
Prices are expected to range between ₹62,000 and ₹1.9 lakh per sq.m, with the process conducted via online e-auction.
Buyers are advised to verify infrastructure and site details before participating.

Electronic City to Be Included in Bengaluru’s RMP 2041 Plan;
Electronic City is set to be integrated into Bengaluru’s official urban planning under RMP 2041 after years of exclusion.
The move aims to improve infrastructure, roads, zoning, and civic amenities across 110+ underserved areas.
Experts note coordination between agencies like the Bangalore Development Authority will be key to effective implementation.

BDA Gets Green Signal for 8-Lane Peripheral Ring Road;
The Bangalore Development Authority has received environmental clearance for the 8-lane Peripheral Ring Road connecting Tumakuru Road to Hosur Road.
The project, cleared on 27 April 2026, will pass via Ballari Road and Old Madras Road to improve cross-city connectivity.
The PRR is expected to ease traffic congestion and boost infrastructure growth in Bengaluru’s outskirts.

Mango Melas Spread Across Bengaluru ;
The first Mango Mela is now live at Cubbon Park with 50+ stalls offering fresh, farm-sourced produce.
Due to uneven harvest, multiple melas will be held across the city in a staggered format.
A mini Mango Mela is likely to be held soon in Electronic City, expected between mid-May and early June.

Big Traffic Relief Coming for Electronic City;
Trucks heading to Hosur / Tamil Nadu currently pass via NICE Road & Nelamangala, adding to congestion.
With the upcoming Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR) – East section, they will soon bypass Bengaluru.
Expected by September 2026, this shift will reduce traffic, improve commute time, and ease congestion in Electronic City.

BIG UPDATE: Bengaluru IRR Alignment Finalized;
The long-pending Intermediate Ring Road (IRR) project has been revived with the 2007 plan finalized and the 2023 alignment dropped.
Minor changes are proposed in Nelamangala and the Anekal–Hosakote stretch, with the STRR-2006 alignment now included.
This move is set to boost connectivity and growth in Electronic City, Anekal, and Hosakote while reducing city traffic congestion.

Bengaluru’s Big Vision: World-Class City by 2037;
Deputy CM D. K. Shivakumar has announced a mega masterplan covering the Bengaluru Metropolitan Region (~8,000 sq km).
The phased plan (2027–2037) focuses on infrastructure, mobility, sustainability, and satellite town development.
Areas like Electronic City are expected to benefit with better connectivity, planned growth, and increased investments.

Rapid urbanisation, shrinking green cover and rising concrete structures are making Bengaluru hotter each year.
Experts warn that protecting lakes, trees and open spaces is crucial to reduce the city’s growing heat stress.

Bengaluru–Chennai Vande Bharat Leads South India:
The Bengaluru–Chennai Vande Bharat corridor has become South India’s top-performing Vande Bharat route with record occupancy and ₹80+ crore revenue.
While Bengaluru–Hyderabad remains strong, routes like Bengaluru–Belagavi and Bengaluru–Madurai are seeing lower occupancy levels.
