If you're looking for a simple and delicious eggless chocolate cake, this recipe is perfect. It makes a soft, moist cake that's ideal for birthdays, celebrations, or an evening treat.
Ingredients: 140 g maida (all-purpose flour), 30 g cocoa powder, 1 pinch salt, 180 g curd, 130 g sugar, 40 g oil or butter (melted),1 tsp baking powder, ½ tsp baking soda, 50 g chocolate chips (optional)
Method: Preheat the oven to 180°C and prepare your cake tin by greasing it or lining it with baking paper. Sift together the maida, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a bowl. Add curd to the sugar and mix well, then add melted oil or butter to the dry ingredients and mix gently until you get a smooth batter. If using, fold in the chocolate chips. Do not overmix. Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and spread it evenly. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting or serving.
Tips: Use fresh curd for the best texture. Sift the dry ingredients well to make the cake light and fluffy. Allow the cake to cool completely before decorating with chocolate frosting or ganache.
